Hello!

When I started MFP I was over 200 lbs and while that is considered overweight I never thought of myself that way. To date I have lost 13 pounds. Now while I don't look much different my clothes don't fit as well but in a good way, I feel better and have much more energy.

What MFP does for me is by being disciplined in logging what you take it, you realize how you cheat. For example, if you have hypertension and consume over 3000mg of Sodium that may not be a good idea. So you cut back.

MFP alone doesn't do it. You need to exercise regularly. I exercise at the gym 3-4 times per week and 1-2 times at home. 3 weekly trips to the gym, I work with a personal trainer. Other ways to exercise? Walk the dog, get a pedometer and count your steps. Spend 1 whole day and clean the house from top to bottom. Get a workout buddy.

One of my motivations was seeing a former coworker for the first time in several years and him telling me has had 2 heart surgeries. I don't want to be that guy. Keep it up!

Great job...I have the same belief about MFP. If you are honest with yourself and log everything you really can learn a lot about yourself and your eating habits. Congratulations on your success.

You have both accomplished a lot! Really good work. I think the awareness of MFP is the best part. Even though I have not become perfect or even close to it; I am not just chowing down on snacks without thinking about it. I am going to join a gym. I wish I could afford the time and money for a trainer like yoU!

My gym membership is only $20/month and they have some as little as $10/month. I got a deal on the lessons with the trainer, I bought package. It runs out soon but it got me started, it gives me added motivation. MFP helps me with the snacking I think and helps me make better choices.

They have a deal here where you can join for only 9.95 a mo. but I think you have to pay a "lifetime fee" of 200.

Maybe I could do a little bit of training. What time do you do it?

3 days a week with the trainer and in the evening. 1-2 days on my own. It's good motivation...You should try it! No lifetime fee at my club just month to month.
