I'm not losing any weight!

I've had the best dieting and exercising month of my life, no doubt, and yet at the end of the month, I've lost maybe two pounds and no inches.

I'm in the 270s, weigh myself in the morning every few days, and eat at 2,000 calories per day. The huge majority of the food I eat is "good food".. lots of vegetables and fruit throughout the day, lean meats, nuts, etc. I work out every other day, which consists of running for 25 minutes and 3x8 compound weights.

I can't really tell if my body has changed, but the scale has barely moved - I've been at 272 for about three weeks now.

I know that "muscle weighs more than fat", and I really do see myself as being more muscular - my thighs seem a lot denser than before, my biceps are signiiificantly bigger than before, I can feel some muscles on my neck/shoulder that I've never known were there... but shouldn't I be dropping weight at the same time?

It's great that you can keep up with the exercise ! how tall are you ? even with the exercise and the muscle mass,

    my 2 cents:

Need to change your routine, your body is too use to what you are doing. need some variation.

Lower your carbs, but try to maintain your protein.

    Introduce a different exercise.

Review your diary that you don't have any items that may be calorie dense or that you might not be that accurate on that you really have a few more calories than you think - my trouble item has always been peanut butter, that 2 tablespoons is a bit heaped...

Unless you are having some health issues I would not go Very Low Calorie like I had to. You are young enough and if you are healthy enough I wouldn't. but you probably need to drop down say 1600, even 1400 Calories for a while if you want to move some weight.

I'm barely maintaining my weight around 200 with my diet in the 1600-1800 calorie range. I hoped I could get back to a 2000 calorie diet, but I'm not sure it's going to happen.

hang in there, sounds like you are doing the right things, just need to tweak your program.

After a while our bodies start getting used to calorie deficits and weight loss slows down. To be honest, there's no exact science to weightloss and we're all different and what works for one, doesn't for another.

I'm now in that stage where I've lost 47lbs and now I'm luck to lose ½ a week even though I'm eating between 1800-2100 Calories a day and I swim 4-5 times a week for about an hour at a time. I probably need either a few good spikes or to go back to 1500kc/day, but I'm happy where I'm at at the moment.

You've lost 44lbs already which is a fantastic achievement. This is a life-long commitment to better health, regular exercise and learning to eat a balance diet and enjoying food without becoming a slave to it.

Kevin made some great suggestions and he's right, you're young and there's so much you CAN and WILL achieve! :flowerforyou:
