  • what exactly is it a stack of?

id stay well clear as they raise your core temperature and increase your heart rate, so if you have a weak heart you could experience problems.

alos if you do take, be very careful of your heart rate during expercise as it will be arificially raised

    I THINK !
  • my gp offered me the fat burning tablets but said id need to prove i could lose weight first by cutting out fat....... hmm if i can lose weight myself why oh why would i put something into my body that can cause side effects (the fat has to go somewhere right?)

not too sure if thats the sort of thing you meant anyway

I use krill oil and fish oil. They actually help you burn more fat if you take them about 30-45mins before your work out. Plus they're good for you. I mix up the days I take krill or fish oil as krill oil is more potent than fish oil. I take either one krill oil a day or 2-3 fish oils.

"Fat burner" products (with one exception) don't really work for fat loss. What they WILL do is suppress appetite and increase metabolism (I wouldn't expect this to amount to more than 50 calories in a day). Increased metabolism doesn't necessarily mean increased fat loss, though, depending on diet/exercise. There are also a lot of potential side-effects. People who are extremely overweight, have high blood pressure, or any sort of heart problems should stay away.

The appetite suppression can definitely be useful for some people, but that, more or less, is all you're getting. Caffeine works just as well for this stuff (black coffee is amazing!), and is a lot safer.

There are some other "fat loss" drugs that block the body's ability to metabolize fat, but as one of the previous posters pointed out, that fat has to go somewhere, and that somewhere is not somewhere you really want it to go (just look at the side effects).

Note: For most people, the following will not be terribly relevant, as you will be able to lose plenty of body fat with proper diet/exercise. Once you start getting to the lower ranges of body fat (typically <~18% for women and <~10% for men), the rate at which your body can pull fat from fat stores starts to decrease. The lower your body fat percentage, the less fat your body will metabolize in a given day.
Based on what I've read, yohimbine (the active ingredient in yohimbe) WILL increase fat loss, but only when in a fasted state (when the body is already running off of fat reserves). It also has strong psychogenic effects, and can greatly increase anxiety, and cause panic attacks in people who are so inclined, so be warned. There is another version of yohimbine, alpha-yohimbine, that is supposed to have similar fat loss characteristics with substantially reduced psychological effects. I just ordered some, and will see how that work soon. It sounds like it may be helpful while on the 'final stretch'. Heck, it may be helpful to others as well, but based on what I've seen, effectiveness is very limited when not in a fasted state, and doing IF (intermittent fasting) will typically get you a really insane rate of fat loss without needing anything like this.

I hope this info is helpful!

That fat loss with IF is not different than anything other method of eating. The "insane" rate of fat loss is through the calorie deficit and yes I do IF.
  • Are you sure that your GP offered a 'fat burner'? They usually offer a 'fat blocker' like ORLISTAT. This works by preventing a certain amount of ingested fat from being absorbed by gut and stomach.
GP's often require you to lose a token amount of weight first...about 5lbs.

please don't. they mess with your heart, kill your metabolism, and you are far more prone to regain the weight when you discontinue them.

I tried Fat Blaster tablets. They didn't do a thing.
