P90X people question...P90X Results and Recovery Formula ??

My husband is starting P90X on Monday. He wanted to get the Results and Recovery Formula tub but for $50 is it really worth it and make a difference or is their something else he could drink with the same results/benefits?

Has anyone who is/was doing P90X have any feedback? Anything else that is "necessary" to make the program a success?

I love two pre and post workout powder's that GNC offer. Jack3d and Amino folic acid, the Jack3d gives me a true pump and I feel like I have given all that I can give, I tend to burn about 800-1100 calories on strength days.
