hello everyone! i have been on mfp for 26 days now and i have noticed that my ankles have swollen dramatically. im not sure if this is from drinking water or from exercising. i have noticed that when i do jumping jacks that my ankles hurt and even sometimes when i walk. could this be from my body not being use to working out or from the water intake?

What's your sodium look like? I don't know how much you weigh- if you're having trouble walking then perhaps back away from the jumping activities till you lose more weight. I would call your doctor- since that can take care of not only figuring out what's wrong but to also ease your mind better than the internet can.

Not to be alarmist, but I think you should go to the g.p.

I would go to your GP or ring NHS direct for some advice, do you have a drop in clinic like we do here? I have had swollen ankles in the heat, but before I lost the weight, it is usually a sign of poor circulation, so oddly don't not drink your water, it helps flush you out, watch your sodium and drink water, as water is NOT what is in your ankles. Also put your feet up HIGHER than your heart, see if they go down. x

We have some local sliding scale clinics here- do you have 211? The United Way number? I would give them a call and ask them for resources in your area. I called them and they found a tiny clinic I didn't know existed and I only had to pay ten bucks to be seen by a doctor. It was a huge lifesaver for me.

If this is something that keeps you from walking then it's time to call in the big guns. What's your sodium intake look like? How many glasses of water do you drink a day? It could be something simple but I would still call 211- swelling can be a marker for an underlying condition. Better to be sooner begun and sooner done with it, y'know?
