Can Diet without Exercise Make A Difference?

Sorry to get a little too personal but I get really frustrated sometimes.
I really want to have a regular work out routine, but I am sick so often that it really interferes with being able to work out. Sorry, just venting.
I just feel so betrayed by my body sometimes
I am worried because on the days when I am too weak to work out I have to rely only on making smart food choices and I feel like I've failed for the day
Anyone else have this problem or any kind words about how to deal with this?

No need to be sorry venting is normal. The only advice I see fit is do it one meal at a time just because you messed up on your breakfast meal doesn't mean your whole day is screwed. Just make sure you get back on track after lunch and dinner. As far as working out google some bed workout routines hope this helps0

YES! Of course you can have results without working out! In fact, working out when you are not well or strong enough could cause some serious problems that wouldn't be worth any weight loss.
However, and I don't know what your health condition is so this advice may or may not even apply, but light exercising (a simple walk around the block even) is good for almost all ailments. It's hard to get motivation when you are tired or busy from playing catch-up after being sick, but if you can do it 3 or more days a week for 4 weeks, it will become so a part of your weekly routine, you won't even need the motivation (most days). Your weight loss and energy levels will also improve if you can just squeeze in some light exercise when you can.
I'm sorry you are not well. Hopefully, a healthy diet and exercising when you can well help the matter. Please take good care of yourself and good luck!!0 -
can someone help me on how to make my own post0

Yes! Diet without exercise can make a difference in your body. When I started, I lost 9 pounds just from eating better. There were times when I would have one bad meal and think I messed up the whole day. This is not true! Do better the next meal. Don't sabotage your own efforts to lose weight. It will take a little while for your body to get used to eating right and that is when you will get that initial weight loss.
I'm sorry you feel as though your body is working against you. I have a friend who doesn't feel well a lot also and she can't make it to the gym that often because of it. What works for her is doing some little things. She will walk her dog around the block everyday and will get up from the couch while watching tv and walk in place during commercials. I thought she had a screw loose the first time I saw her walking in place for 3 minutes until I did it with her. Those 3 minutes really add up! I felt a difference! You can also keep your arms looking nice with some curls. You don't need wieghts - just get moving when you feel up to it.
I am sure you will be able to find some time, even for a few minutes a day, to get some pep in your step to up the calorie burn. Keep it up! ^_^0 -
Of course it can! Weight loss is mostly attributed to diet in my opinion. You can exercise as much as you like, but if you don't have a caloric deficit, you won't lose weight. I lost 30 pounds with minimal (cardio, walking/running 30 mins, 3-4 times a week) to no exercise.0

Sure can! I have less workout days than most people because if I work out that much- I end up bed-bound for a week or more. Where is the health in that? So I work out three to four days a week and just gentle exercises. I also use the Sit and Be Fit exercise program- it's gentle and forgiving.
The great thing about MFP is that there is a defecit inherent in the system- so any exercise you can add on is just a bonus. Don't give up! We may move slower but we still move!!!0 -
Yes, if you eat well, you've won most of the battle. People get fat by overeating, not by inactivity. I lost 7 pounds before mfp and another 5 on top with no workouts. That being said, I'm not exactly lean so once I get to goal, lifting weights will be a priority.0

As I have an illness that makes any kind of cardio almost impossible I'm heartened by what people have to say. I am mainly having to rely on diet (which is tricky because I have gastric issues too and so my diet is restricted).0
