Hey guys. Tonight I went out with friends and had sushi. The sushi was called a super tuna roll. It has shrimp tempura w/flakes, avacado, cream cheese + tuna. I can't find the nutritional info on it and have searched an hour on the internet to see if there is anything close to it. The closest I found was they Dynamite roll, but from the looks of it each place make it differernt. I've scoured MFP to see anything close and can't find anything. I am so frustrated I have no idea how many calories I ate or the stats. I know it must be a lot considering the heavy ingredients. I had quite a bit of cals left over from the day, but I'm hoping I didn't delve into the obnoxiously huge calorie for a small portion type meal too badly.
Please please anyone help and give me advice on how to log this!!!!
What do you uys do when there is absolutley no nutritional infor on things??? Or you don't know the ingredients? Or the nature it was cooked in!?! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Would it help to break down the ingredients and look up each on in a calorie/fat guide book??
If I can't find the exact, I go for what I think is a close approximation.
Good luck.

I would try creating the recipe and then taking my nutritional info from that. There are recipe nutrition calculators - you add in the ingredients and it'll tell you how much cals/ etc are in what you ate.0

I have no idea how much was used in each, though! I wouldn't kwno where to begin It might work... I will give it a try! Thanks for the suggestion!
If anyone has any other tips or suggestions for this please list them . This is so frustrating!!!0 -
I Googled it, and I found something that kind of sounds like it. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/food/calories/eson-gib-super-one-sushi-spicy-tuna-roll-4381610

That's def not it,but thank you for trying hun. I've been trying to nail down something similar for an hour now and the closest I can come up with is the Dynamite roll. The cream cheese, avacado and tempura would = way more fat than the one you posted.
I tried to recreate the recipe in MFP.. does anyone have a different site or recipe calculator they have had luck with?0 -
Rockette... how do you always make me hungry? BTW, we MUST have Sushi when I get to VA this fall.
Break it up and do it piece by piece. You should be able to find it as separate elements... (I mean, look up tempura shrimp, etc.) Nothing is perfect... just get as close as you can. *hugs*0 -

Trolololololol! You are so brilliant. Why didn't I think of this! Praise to you and your completely unique and intelligent posting.0 -

GAH I want more. I could have had triple what was served When you and I go to VA our MFP logs will be WHAT IS THIS I DON'T EVEN territory. When we went last year, our diet was skittles and vodka. They made me try southern biscuits and gravy for the first time and I spent the next 2 days in the bathroom. NEVER AGAIN - GRAVY IS SUPPOSED TO BE BROWN, PEOPLE.
I ended up doing just this. I guess general consensus is it is the best way to go about things! Thanks for the advice.0 -
My suggestion is to call the place that made it and get the exact ingredients. They may be able to tell you the calories etc.0

umm, was this a serious post of a nervous breakdown? most people either don't worry about it (normal route) or try to log individual ingredients they know are in it and guess, no caloric stat is 100% anyway, they're always give or take about 10calories or 10%, forgot which one, see even my info isn't 100%. chances are you enjoyed the meal, no big deal0

I'm frustrated because I can't find the information to correctly log a meal and you see this as a nervous breakdown? I did enjoy the meal. No where in my post did you see regrets of me consuming this delicious, beastly roll. I would now like the proper tools and knowledge to go about logging it so I continue to be honest with myself about the foods I consume. It's kind of why I use MFP.
My issue here is not with "10 calories give or take" It's the difference between logging 120 like some sites say, and 750 that others say. I'd like to be as accurate as I can.
Thanks for the people that offered help. For those interested - I ended up putting in "salmon avacado roll", 1 0z of full fat cream cheese and 3 shrimp temupra. I'm not sure what else was in it past that!0 -
** oops double post same thing. /HERP DE DERP/0
