Favorite gym activities?

What are yours? I got into racquetball last week and it is killer. I'm super sore but it's really fun.

I also bike for 33 minutes when I go (which is usually between 7 and 8 miles for me) and my calves are already becoming more muscular (I started hitting the gym mid-January). I prefer biking over the treadmill because I get antsy standing up, if that makes any sense.

Also, if you do the weight circuits, do you do them before or after cardio? I've heard multiple reasons for why before and after are right so I was curious about your take.

    I don't mix my cardio and weight lifting. If i have 600 calories to burn, i want all 600 for the current task, not spread out on 3 different cardio machines and some circuit.

    I train for function, so any machine that puts me in a forced plane of movement is not beneficial, and is not functional for me.

    I love to go on the elliptical! I could go on that for hours on end, unfortunatley theres only 2 of them in the gym i go to, and theres other people there that want to use them :laugh:

    I used to to do 10 min on the treadmill to rev up my heart rate, then go do my 6 different weight machines and then do some more treadmill if I have the time, or elliptical, and then 5 min of stretching. Sometimes i would do another 10 min on treadmill after three machines before the other three machines.
    But now that I go to boxing/kickboxing classes, I love them best of all.

    Spinning and intervals on the treadmill. I've been too chicken to try weight machines yet.

    Another vote over here for weights...my cardio time is much better spent dancing around the house like a loon or going for a long walk than in the gym, IMO

    I walk on the treadmill every day except Sunday (and sometimes on Sunday if I just get the urge to do it) and I am taking a hardbody toning class twice a week and either a kettle bells or boxercise class twice a week. I have not started lifting weights using the machines yet, but thinking I will add that this week on the 3 days I do not do classes.
