A nice little victory when I was feeling kinda defeated

I have hit a hardcore plateau. We're talking about 6 months. I've felt just really frustrated and defeated and fat but haven't given up.

Tonight I had a nice moment. Was washing my hands after dealing with a very messy patient and I happened to catch a nice profile view of myself in my scrubs. I look good. Not as good as I want but definitely better than I have been feeling. I feel good again!

Ah I know about those plateaus.....it's been a journey of over ten years for me with many plateaus along the way. Mind you I didn't know when I started what I know now and I didn't have the tools ie MFP to track my progress like I do now.

I have only just started seeing myself differently, I still felt 'big' even when I had lost a lot of weight (over 60kg in all) so I wonder now if the plateauing was a way of confirming my identity even if it wasn't my ideal. :frown:

I never really believed that I could weigh what I do now, I still have to remind myself that I look different :embarassed:

I recently joined Curves and have really connected the dots with everything now wonderfully clear. I am now in control. I am a 'normal' health conscious being. I don't think of myself as dieting anymore.....I just eat well and keep moving.

I LIKE WHAT I SEE IN THE MIRROR. There is still room for improvement, a little weight still to go and masses of toning to do but I'm VERY proud of what I have achieved.

So my advise.........be proud, like who you are and believe in your dreams. :flowerforyou:
