Quick question: 30DS - what did it do for you? :)

I'm on day 4 (?4 already?) of the shred, and I'm just wondering if it helps for things like overall cardiovascular fitness, flexibility etc.

I've seen a lot of success stories in terms of losing cms and kgs (well done ladies and gents!), but no one has really mentioned if its made them a whole lot fitter, that sort of thing.

I'm still training martial arts and gyming it, but I'm hoping that the shred will make me fitter because I'm terrible at cardiovascular training on my own, hehe.

I was sore on day 2, but after that I was fine... although I may not be the best comparison depending on how sore you get with your exercise - my training gives me major DOMS at least once a week, so the soreness from the 30DS didn't seem so bad to me in comparison.

I've been doing it for almost 3 weeks now and I feel fantastic. I can already see a huge difference - my belly is smaller, "love handles" are disappearing, my arms are more defined ...
It's a fantastic workout. I am doing level 2 now.
I do feel much fitter. I was already very flexible, so I don't know about that. My balance is better as well.

I am also doing other stuff a couple of times a week (Jillian's No more trouble zones and stationary bike).

I do karate and I found 30DS helped with my general fitness, strength and speed. I feel it is a good way to work on strength because you are not bulking up too much (not usually too much of a problem in women anyway) so it doesn't slow you down in your martial arts. I definitely recommend it! All the plyometrics seem to help with speed and the general getting-out-of-the-way when sparring. Overall a good workout if you do martial arts

I did karate when I was in primary and high school. Miss it a lot. I got to go and train two weeks ago before I went back to uni.

i did the 30 day shred August 2011. unfortunatley i didnt complete it, i got to level 2 day 2 and gave up! i felt it got quite boring for me =/ and repetitive. i like to do different excercises everyday! not the exact same excercise for days on end!

considering i only did it for 12 days, i lost half an inch off my thighs and half a inch off my arms and waist area. As soon as i finished 30 day shred, i started going out jogging in the evenings to help with my thighs, and the shred really helped me with my fitness! i would of never been able to jog before in my life! but it helped to build up my legs, and they are much more stronger now and are able to run for a decent amount of time!

good luck with the shred, you will be sore for a few days, but carry on with it, and you will see some awsome results

I have just finished 30DS and starting 6W6P now. I have noticed a huge increase in my strength & endurance and this has improved my running a lot! I hadn't expected this but I am definitely stronger in my legs, core and arms and has really motivated me to continue. I am going to try other jillian DVDs but I can see me doing 30DS again. It is simple, straight forward and will always be tough if you increase weights etc as you get stronger. Jillian does get results if you follow her advice
  • Im doing P90x and its helped so much to get me fit and healthy! Ive lost 80lbs...and now in the best shape ive ever been ! No more blood pressure pills, not prediabetic anymore and cholestrol in normal now .

i'm on day 7, not feeling anything, or noticing anything. But I am chugging along like normal! But then again, i am an exception, I was fortunate enough to be built with excess skin around my stomach - so I don't think I will ever get a six pack, because there is extra skin hanging. can't stand it.

I will be doing day 6 today. I was super sore the first 2 days and even still my thighs are a little sore from the squats.. I can already feel a difference. Yesterday while doing day 5, I didn't feel like I was gonna die.. and I know this sounds completly crazy since I am only on day 6 but I swear my tummy already looks a little smaller. I am a big woman so any difference is good to me. Yes it is a bit repetitive, but it goes by quickly. I am combining the 30 day shred with walking on my lunch break at work, so I am hoping to see some good results..

I completed the 30 Day Shred and I would say it definitely prepared me a little more for Insanity which I just started. Without doing the Shred first, I don't think I would have completed my first Insanity workout today.

I lost 2" off my butt/hip measurement, 2" off my belly at the navel, and smaller increments over my entire body. My best estimations using a couple of online bodyfat calculators lead me to believe that I dropped a small percentage of bodyfat as well. And before the Shred, the most I even ran on the treadmill before having to stop and walk was 5-7 minutes (and that was REALLY pushing it for me), whereas shortly after I finished the Shred I got on the treadmill and proudly ran 12:30 before stopping to walk. I didn't really get on the treadmill at all for the 37 days it took me to do the Shred b/c I was focused on that workout so much - some days I even did it 2 or 3 times or did multiple levels, once I got past the first few days where I was really sore. So that improvement on the treadmill was a bit of a surprise since it seemed to happen all at once. That was my most exciting accomplishment b/c I have never been able to run that long in my LIFE before the Shred, even back before I gained all the weight. So yes it helped me in other areas other than just weight/measurements. :-)

It also pushed me to want to do MORE. Which is awesome. ;-) I purchased several other Jillian dvds and some bigger weights and now I'm doing moves that I would have thought were ridiculous a few months ago. And feelin' like a badass in the process. (even though I'm really not at badass level yet, it feels that way for me b/c I've come so far from where I started).
