I am horrible at math. And I'll probably feel like a moron after having this question answered. But I'm running on a couple hours of sleep here lol...

Anyway, I am 5'3 and 188lbs. I want to get on a specific birth control, but studies on it's effectivness were not conducted on woman who were over 130% of their ideal body weight. So I am wondering if I am to overweight for it.

just multiply your ideal body weight by 1.3

for example, if your ideal weight is 143 lbs (x 1.3) 130% or it is 185.9

here's a link for ideal weight guidelines based on height and frame size:

I'm pretty sure my math is right...don't do many calculations these days....
If I'm wrong, please someone correct it :flowerforyou:

if your ideal weight is about 120 lbs (BMI 21), then you are about 157% of your ideal weight

or i am wrong, too

the question is what do you mean by ideal weight? because i did a test for me and it shows BMI 21 as the ideal weight and that's different from the term healthy weight which is under BMI 25

OK, I did a little leg work for you, and it looks like your ideal body weight for your height would be somewhere around 125 pounds. That puts you at a BMI of 22, which is smack dab in the middle of the "healthy" BMI range.

So, 130% of that is 162.5 (calculation is 125*1.3).
