Hey guys,
I joined MFP last year, and then fell off the wagon. I didn't manage to clamber back on until last week. I understand it's only been a week, but I've been going out of my way to exercise and eat right and I gained 2 lbs on my first weigh-in. I feel so bummed about it. I feel I'm going to be lumpy forever!!!
Does anyone have any advice?

It's only been a week. That isn't enough time to judge how this is going to go for you.
Are you drinking enough water? Limiting sodium and frozen/processed/pre-packaged foods? Are you measuring everything and tracking everything? Are you eating enough?0 -
Since you said you've been 'going out of your way' to exercise, it's possible you're retaining water from suddenly exercising more than usual. If your food is on track with your calorie goal, it should not be fat that you've gained, the most reasonable explanation (if your logging is accurate) is that your muscles are retaining water b/c of your increased activity. If that's the case, it will eventually go away.0

I'm making the effort to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day, and I stay awake from anything processed or pre-packaged (if I can). When I joined MFP last year I struggled with eating my daily allotted calories - I got it into my head that i would lose weight faster if I ate 300 less than my total every day. That was one of the reasons I stopped. I'm trying hard to eat the full amount this time - but it's hard to find things to fill in the last 150 cal.
To be honest, my scales can be dubious at best - once they said I lost 7lbs in 2 days! But regardless if they *might* be wrong, it's still disheartening. Any brand names I should look out for if I buy a new set?0
