i'v heard 5lbs, i'v just brought it but not starting till next week when my son is back in college, so let us know how you get on. everyone on here raves about it. i plan to buy 2 small water bottles for my weights lol0
-
I built up. Started at 1lbs. Or maybe 2. It was a while ago.0
-
I started with 5lbs. It was little difficult at first and I wasn't always able to complete all of the reps. But I think 3 would have been too light for me.0
-
I used 5 pounders for everything except the anterior raises...had to use 3 pounders for those!0
-
3 lb. weights here, but I really don't have any muscle tone to speak of!0
-
5lb weights here. Some of the moves are a lil difficult with them, but if it's too easy, you really aren't WORKING IT is what I say!0
-
I use 5 lb ones, but the squat and press exercise I cant do all the reps. It just hurts too much. I'm only on level 1 right now.0
-
you could always start of with water and see how much weight you need to buy :flowerforyou:0
-
I started with 3lbs, moved up to 5 for most of the moves.0
-
My first day today too, used 2kg weights, but a couple of the exercises killed my arms with them lol0
-
I had to start with 1's and 3's. By the end I was using 3's, 5's, and 8's depending on the particular exercise. That was back in November/December. Now I'm doing Ripped in 30 and using anywhere from 5's to 15's depending on the exercise (okay there's only 1 that I can use 15's on, but I love it!). You should keep challenging yourself and bump it up when you feel you might be ready. :-)0

I started yesterday and I am using 2lb weights. I was only able to use them on half the workout the other half I didn't use any. I don't think it really matters what size you start with, just use what feels comfortable and when it get to easy step it up. That's my plan. I'm looking to get fit not injured.0

I only have 5lb so I use those. For some of the exercises I have to put them down though. It is still tough for me.0

I started with 1.5. On day 6 I moved up to 30
-
I started with 5's and now use the 5's and sometimes 8's depending on the exercise.0

I use 5's and 8's, I don't think I could go any higher nor do I think u should with this DVD........0

2 kgs weights (4.4 lbs)0

I started with 2 lb weights, because that's what I had. After about 5 or 6 days, I bought 5 pound weights, and I've been using those for most of the exercises. I still use the 2 lb weights for one move.0

I figure out what I'm comfortable with and can manage and then I bump it up to the next level - I'm not going to see results if I'm not challenging myself.
That being said, I use 5's because that's the heaviest I have. I use 8-10's at the gym for similar moves, so I'll ideally go buy some heavier weights soon0 -
I'm on level 1 day 4 today. I use 3's for everything. I could use heavier on the bicep curls, but I don't have any. I figured I'll finish with these and then next go round go higher and so on. It is hard with 3's on the shoulder work. My arms are definitely stronger than my shoulders.0
-
I'm 2 days from finishing and I started off using 1.15kg (2.5 pounds) and now use 2kg (4.4 pounds)0
-
I use 3 different weights.
3lbs for the anterior raises. Those muscles are *not* strong enough to make it through two round yet!
5lbs for almost everything else.
8lbs for chest flies and bicep excercises. I like to use these for the back rows, too. Tends to tork off my very bad shoulder joint, though.
ETA: I am on day 2 level 2.0 -
I used 1kg from the start but couldn't make it through all of the twin arm raises, what I did was raise one arm at a time as you went to the side, then got back into double when I could.
Now, day 8 I can make it all the way through and added 1.5kg for the back exercises (row), chest raises and bicep curls yesterday, but today I stepped that up to 3kg. My goodness I SWEATED esp on my back so think it worked a treat - and my biceps are shakey after it too so thats great sign of it being right to have stepped up. I still made it through so all good.
no doubt level 2 will have me back to 1kg again! lol0 -
Thanks guys. I only have 5's so used them today. Will probably stick with them as I need strength for horse riding and pole0
-
I used 8's for a lot of the moves and 5's for the slightly more challenging moves. I had to build up though! Now 5's are just too light for me!0
