if you are losing inches you aren't doing anything wrong.0

Maybe you're gaining muscle if you've just started a new workout routine? If you're losing inches you know you're on the right track and the scales will definitely start catching up eventually. (:0

I'm confused. So you'd rather not have lost the inches?

Hang in there! I'm going through the same thing. I figure it's just muscle building up. :flowerforyou:0

Don't get caught up with the number on the scale --it is evil. If you are losing inches the pounds will come off in their own time. Inches are what truly matters.0

Best tips i've learned.
1) Don't rely on the number...the inches are what matters, I did 30day shred and weight stayed the same but lost overall 8 inches in different parts of my body. The number will eventually change as you get more fit.
2) Weigh yourself one day of the week, ONLY, and dont cheat, it'll motivate you to try harder by your next weigh in. (Your weight fluctuates2-4lbs a day from water weight, reason to only weigh yourself once a week)
3) Eat 4-6 smaller meals a day, this keeps your metabolism going.
4) Drink more WATER. Take your weight, divide by 2, thats how many oz you should drink a day. To make it easier, then take that number divide it by how many oz in a water bottle, lets say 16oz, and it'll come out to how many bottles you should drink a day.
5) Put your meals on a smaller plate, it tricks you brain into thinking you are eating more.
**Don't give up, if you've already started your weight loss journey, the day you give up everything you've done was a waste of time.

If you are losing inches then what you are doing IS WORKING! Try not to focus on the scale and keep up the good work!0

Inches are good. Stop focusing on the scale number.0

I've been told that you can't lose inches and pounds at the same time........0

I agree with the others. If you are losing inches, you are doing things right. And weighing yourself everyday is just setting yourself up for frustration. You're working out 4 times a week, so you are burning the fat and building the muscle. Just remember that muscle weighs more than fat. If it's still an issue for you, take a closer look at what you're eating. Read up on what to look for as if you have a cholesterol problem. This means looking for dietary fiber and sugar contents. You'd be surprised by the numbers in what you might consider "healthy" foods. I'm a "carbivore" and a chocoholic. Don't cut all your "treats" - that will only rebound and kick you in the bum (or stick to your bum!). It makes some people laugh, but when I buy something like M&Ms for a treat (the cherry cordial & mint ones are my faves), I portion them out into the number of servings given on the package and put them in little baggies. I can have only one baggie a day for a treat. And Girl Scout cookies? I have some at work and I eat only the serving given on the box. It does take discipline, but it makes a huge difference. And weight loss is a major waiting game. I've done it more than once. I have faith that you can do this. A support system is important too. Not just MFP, but in the "real world" too. Good luck!0

Don't worry about the scales as long as the inches are dropping.
When you are out in public, nobody knows how much you weigh, but they know what you look like, and the loss of inches and dress size is far more important.
I'd happily weigh 300lbs as long as I could fit into a size 10 dress.
you are doing well, keep it up.0
