My wife could use some support.

My wife is training for her first marathon. It's April 29 in Gettysburg, PA. Today she was scheduled for a long run of 13 miles, but the weather wasn't cooperating. It was in the 20's with a wind chill of 8 and gusts up to 25 mph. She made it 8 miles, though! I only made it 3 before I hit the treadmill. She's had many setbacks along the way, and she's feeling really down in the dumps about it. If anyone has any stories of success after hardships, especially runners, I'm hoping that will help her feel better.

She blogged about it at http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/mariawells/view/the-wind-won-210695

Thanks!

it is not an easy task, especially on days like today. There is a great deal of self-satisfaction gutting through long run days when the weather sucks. Your brains says that you can skip it --- but you can't - you have to show your body and doubting mind who is boss! My best memories training for long runs are when the weather was terrible. Something to laugh about later.
