i have heard if the food your eating has sugar alcohol in it you take this away from the carbs.. has any one else heard this?:indifferent:

    Yes. It's an idea low carb diets sometimes endorse. There's some controversy, though. I have found that sugar alcohols have undesirable embarrassing side effects though... :blushing:

    This may sound dumb, but what are sugar ahcohols and what foods have them?

    Sugar alcohols are carbohdyrates that have been manipulated to maintain a slightly sweet taste but are metabolized differently. They are not broken down and absorbed completely, so they don't cause tooth decay or a large spike in blood sugar like normal sugar. They can have a laxative effect because, like fiber, they're not broken down. That's only in cases of overconsumption though. They are found in diabetic and artificially-flavored foods.
