I had a laparoscopy 3 weeks ago and am wondering when I can start exercising again? I have been walking but I would like to add more and make it more of a workout, but am worried of stuffing up my insides. If anyone could help me that would be fantastic!

As soon as your doctor gives you the okay. I had one and the doctors said I could do what I can as long as it didn't hurt at my 3 week follow up. Get the doctor's okay, then do what your body allows you to do!

I'm still in a bit of pain, but when I go to the dr they dont really give any advice. They just say to go at my own pace and all that stuff, but I feel ok when I walk, it's just after that I start to ache.

What exercise did you do after yours?

I have had three laparoscopies and have felt differently after each one. Part of it depends on what they did while they were in there! :) I had two for endometriosis removal and one to get my tubes tied.

My doc has said on all of them to "take it easy" for the first week (ie: walking, easy elliptical, etc) and no weights. After 1 week, I had the green light for anything I felt up to (though I didn't feel 100% back to normal at 1 week).

The nurse in me says to follow what your doc said to do. The exercise-fanatic in me says to do what your body says you can handle. Nurse make the worst patients! ;)

    Haha :)

I had my appendix and a burst ovarian cyst out.

I really want to start doing exercise but I'm worried about dislodging my insides and having to go back to hospital. I'm just getting bored of walking and want to add something new to my routine, but all I used to do was my treadmill and vibrate plate so I'm kinda stuck about what to do
