Hi everyone! My name is Heather, and I will be 19 years old in May. I joined MFP a little over a week ago and have yet to introduce myself. Before I started here I was weighing in at 175, and now I am down to 172.
Here's my story: Before I got pregnant with my baby boy, I was around 130-ish. I had a real hard time during my pregnancy, and I was really lazy and didn't eat right like I should have. Eventually the pounds started packing on and on. It was terrible. I had high blood pressure and swollen feet/legs 24/7. (I know it was my own fault.) And I'm paying for it now. The day I went into labor I was weighing at 195 pounds. I had to have a cesarean so it took longer for my body to heal so I could try to exercise. My son is 6 months old now, and thankfully I am down a little bit to 172, but still feel terrible every day because I have hardly any clothes that look right on me and am just not feeling good about myself ever. I would very much love to get back down to the way I used to be but it is so so very hard.
I could use some encouragement from other moms who have had the same problem as me.
I hope to meet some new people and read lots of inspirational stories to help keep me going.
Thank you!

Welcome and good luck. The key is healthy food and portion control. :flowerforyou:0

Your story sounds a lot like mine. Before pregnancy I was between 105-110 and when my daughter was born I got up to 163. SHe is 13 months now and I am still trying to lose the weight. I have been doing Insanity for a week now and it has been working for sure!! Good Luck and add me if you like!!0

Add me if you like! I've been there! Had my first child right before I turned 19, and now I'm 24 and I have three little boys. I just had my last one 7 months ago and have gone down past my pre-pregnancy weight! It is very possible. Are you breastfeeding? That really helps a TON. I still am and it's nice because I can eat a little bit more because of it :P Anyway, if you stay on track with what this website...you WILL lose the weight! This website helped me drop the weight before my last pregnancy and after. I just went shopping today and I'm down to a size 2 for the first time in my life! Anyway, enough about me. Like others have said, it's all about eating cleaner and portion control.0

I went through the same thing. When I was 23 I had my son and my pre pregnancy weight was in the 130s and when I delivered I was in the 180s. I had a rough delivery and it took me awhile to heal too. My son is now almost 4 years old and for the past two and a half years I've weighed somewhere between 133 and 143, but this last 10 pounds feels almost impossible to lose. I lost most of my weight just getting out and being active. I started playing volleyball with a group of friends at a local park, and though none of us had any idea what we were doing at first we kept playing several times a week and got pretty good by the end of the summer, and it was nice because some of my friends were young moms too and we would all bring our kids to the park to play while we played. Though my son was only 1 at the time I would set up his playpen under a large tree where I could watch him and during breaks and in between games I would play with him at the nearby playground, burning more calories. I think I lost over 20 lbs just playing and I didn't even realize I was losing weight until my friends started pointing it out. It was the most fun way to lose weight I've ever tried and I wish I still lived back in my hometown so we could have kept it up.
I hope you can find something that's fun for you because it's soooo much easier when you're enjoying yourself! I also think it's easier when you have a good support system. Find a friend that's trying to lose weight too and do it together. Feel free to add me and we can support each other on MFP!0
