I read somewhere, ages ago, that it's better to wait an hour after exercise before showering. I have absolutely idea whether it's true or not. Has anybody else heard the same thing?

i dont think its really a myth. or at least it could be based in fact someplace.
probably its if you work out really hard and get all hot and your blood pressure increases, and you hit a cold shower it could make you pass out.0 -
People will like you more if you shower sooner ;~)0

haha, nope. I try to shower as soon afterwards as I can, especially during the summer. I think leaving my body sweaty and gross leaves me more prone to breakouts on my chest and back. And nobody likes bacne.0

If I run outside and it is really cold then I wait until warm up a bit before I shower. The reason why is because if your skin is really cold and you get in a hot shower you itch really bad. I know it sounds weird but it has happened to me. I always change out of my running clothes into something else while I warm up.0

I thought the myth was to not go swimming for an hour after eating? lol0

I haven't heard that one! I like to get a hot shower after and kind of keep stretching in there and slowly bring my temp down.0

If you take a hot shower immediately after a hard workout, you could overheat your body, however its unlikely. On the side note of cold showers, alternating between hot and cold water during a shower is said to speed up recovery...however, personally, I don't recommend it because I became very light headed when I switched to cooler water.0

This just brought back memories of jumping in the cold swimming pool during winter just to make getting in the hot tub a million times better. And yes, a weird, full-body itchy thing would happen. Still is fun, though.0 -

The only, and I mean the only, possible point I can see in this is after you've had one of those intense weight training workouts and your arms and legs are kind of wobbly. I can't imagine a soapy shower is the safest place for someone who isn't 100% on balance.0
