I'm not sure how to track some of my excerise - at the weekend I regualy go out and about with my mum who can't during the week as she has to use a wheelchair. So when we go out an i spend 2 hours or so pushing her about (eg shopping) what do I log the excersise as. I have been logging it as pushing a child in a pushchair but as my mum weighs about 330lbs I think this might be a bit off!

Any ideas - i've seen an excersie that says pushing a whellchair but it's classed as running and that i'm defintly not doing - i tend to walk at a fairly brisk pace eg walking the dog pace

when i'm walking at that pace on my own I get 199 cals for every 30 min
for pushing a pushcahair I get 151 cals for every 30 min
when it says running, pushing a wheelchair i would get 483 cals for every 30 min

Firstly i would say this depends on what you have your lifestyle settings on in your account for example if you are saying you are active and this is very regular for you then i would be tempted not to log it at all as your body is used to this and its not over and above. However if you are on a sedentary setting then you could log.

Secondly I would always under estimate than over, so ok it might not be that many for a pushchair but its better than over logging and then eating them back if you havent really accurately gained them.

HRM is the only accurate way if you want to be sure

Just my personal thoughts ive shared
  • Thanks - thats what i've been doing. My lifestyle is set on sedantary because sob days at my my job i'm sat at a computer all day others i'm moving lots!
