Adjusting calories as weight is lost??

Posted this one in the general section and didn't get a good answer...
One question I have had for awhile now is whether or not I need to adjust my weight in the settings area as I lose weight.
Is this something that myfitnesspal adjusts automatically? I have not see my total calories decrease as I have lost weight and am just wondering if that is something I need to adjust myself?
Any help is appreciated!

I have adjusted it myself thus far, but I think I read that it is supposed to automatically do so (maybe every 10 lbs?).0

I expected it to adjust as I went along but it hasn't seemed to so periodically I just go back into settings - adjust diet/fitness profile and it brings up new figures0
