Hello all! Sorry I forgot to post yesterday. I didn't get my weights done yesterday morning (or this morning, for that matter), but I made them up last night and plan to do the same tonight. Clearly, I still to work on getting to bed on time! I also went to Zumba last night, which was fun. Last week, I averaged around 13000 steps a day (and that was with some pretty sedentary weekend days) - I am hoping to bump it up a bit this week. The pedometer showed 9100 steps during Zumba, but I think I'm going to do the conversion which comes out to more like 10500.

I am wearing kinda tight jeans today (they are new) so I am hoping that I don't feel too self-conscious. I've been used to most of my clothes being baggy. At least they are a dark color. And my DH likes them! :blushing: No big exercise plans today except for a walk after lunch (the weather looks gorgeous) and strength routine tonight. I will probably hold off on pushups so I can test tomorrow.

V, good luck on the blood work results. Anne, congrats on the 1/2-pound! Nicole, good luck studying. Mary, good luck with the ride tomorrow if you decide to go. WL, I think the sugar settings here are super low - I basically can't eat any fruit or fruit yogurt without going over. Maybe it is appropriate for people who are diabetic, but for me it seems impossible. And MM, I am glad that you are feeling good about the adoption and working with Alex. Let's see... E is for exercise! :laugh: I bet he knows that one already. AD, Karen, anyone else who hasn't checked in lately - I hope you are doing well!

Happy Friday! :flowerforyou:

    Good morning!
    Today is splurge day since we're going on a date tonight. I am going to try to get a work out in this afternoon if I can. This morning is Bible Study, then I need to try to get some cleaning done and get ready for tonight.
    I'm having a hard time staying within my lower cals but I know I am doing a little better.
    I need to go. I'll try to check back in later!

    Here's my contribution for the day. . .Marion Nestle, author of "What to Eat" has a blog:

    http://www.foodpolitics.com/

    I find her fascinating.

    I've made a goal to start doing a completely restorative yoga practice (an old tape I have that's all supported poses and relaxation) every day until I feel back to full power, or get some frickin' results back.

    I still feel yucky, and now (for fun!) my rash is sort of everywhere. Ewwww. . . in between church services and oatmeal baths the next few days, I'm going to try to practice stillness.

    CP, I'm not as good as remembering what everyone is up to as you are. Please allow me to second everything you said.:tongue: And, to add. . .

    Take care, pebbles.:flowerforyou:

    Anne, thanks for your comments on the other post about the adoption. We are actually wanting to adopt a four or five year old girl! Alex has a tendency to copy other kids, so if we got babies he would copy the babies, and might possibly regress. I haven't been around many five year olds but my mom said that is a fun age, and Alex will have a playmate and someone older that he can mimick. We may go ahead and adopt two kids, one older and one younger than Alex. We are unsure yet. It's a big jump from 1 kid to 3!
    Today is Alex's last day on his meds. I have noticed a little more irritability over the last couple of days. I guess we will see what the weekend brings! I pray he doesn't have to go back on them.
    Okay, I need to get! Have a good day!

    Good for you MM (and husband)! I think that's the right thing to do.

    Easter is Sunday - and the new challenge begins afterward. Maybe we will go until June 1st? I think I'm going with the 5 days of yoga a week.

    Thanks for the Nestle blog, V. She's great. Her last name is a nice touch of irony.

    So no ride for us on Saturday. We decided last night (when the rain was coming in the afternoon, not evening like they are saying today), not to do it. We didn't want to get caught in a thunderstorm. It also smells like wildfire outside today, so that would dampen the fun as well. We had a kitty scare last night. One of our guys wouldn't stop panting. He was licking himself excessively and hiding a little. We calmed him down and gave him some benadryl. He seems ok this morning. For those that don't know, panting is a bad sign in a cat (when it doesn't stop quickly). We were guessing he either had quite a fright or chased a wasp on the enclosed porch.

    Yesterday: walk and yoga. Yoga had a sub who was very different (I think a little nervous). Today - more of the same.

    Easter chocolate boogaloo,

    Mary

    My birthday is June 1st. :smile: So that would work well for me as a challenge end date. I was thinking I would get another fitness test at the Y (including body composition) sometime around my birthday. I am hoping to have lost 5lbs or so by then (it is looking like I may have lost this week, but we will see). When I did my last one, they recommended that I should be at about the weight I am now (I think that was for 22-23% body fat, don't remember exactly) so I am curious to see what my body fat % actually is now that I am there. I am also hoping that my cardio fitness and strength will have improved. I was well below average on cardio (which was a bit of a blow for me considering how hard I had been working, although he said that the body fat % impacted that number), and somewhat above average on strength.

    Sorry, rambling again. I'll figure out over the weekend whether I want to change my goals or not. I think I've been doing pretty well on the current plan (except for bedtime). Easter boogaloo! (we are going over to a friend's house to dye eggs with their daughter, which should be fun)

    Hi All!

    June 1 sounds good to me!

    MM my nephew is 4yo and they are just magic at that age! All I want to do is hang out and talk to him because he is soooo funny and sweet. It's the age where they question EVERYTHING and still young enough to be really affectionate without being self-conscious. It's amazing.

    Okay, getting back on track today (hangover boogaloo...yikes!) with:
    * 45 minutes cardio at the gym
    * Biceps and triceps for weights
    * 20 minute walk
    * Take my vitamins
