Les Mills Pump - question

Hi,
I just received the pump workout - watched the introductory video.

I cannot get the clips to close. What am I doing wrong?

I did this workout years ago in the gym and the clips were metal and not the plastic kind.

Of course I called customer service and cannot get a live person and no one will respond to on-line chat.

Any advice you have is greatly appreciated.
