How to track workout DVDS?

I just joined MFP yesterday. I'm interested to know how you all track workout DVDS like 30DS and 6 Week 6 Pack? Do you mark it as just cardio?

Thanks!

Before I had my heart rate monitor I logged them as Circuit Training. Welcome to MFP! :flowerforyou:

Since I wear a HRM I log the actual DVD. I input it as a new exercise!

HRM here. It's a great investment.

Calisthenic vigorous or circuit training. I don't have a HRM
  • What HRM do you recommend?

Welcome, I dont have a HRM, but I would log it as Circuit Training because your doing all sorts of exercises. Feel free to add me if you like...

Use the Search feature here and look for HRM or heart rate monitor - heaps of topics full of recommendations, favorites, opinions, you name it! I narrowed my search down to either a Polar or New Balance, and since I'm on a tight budget, started watching eBay auctions for both. I got a brand new New Balance N4 for $26 (retail is around $70). Get ideas from the threads here, read reviews on those items on Amazon (very helpful!) and hopefully that will help you decide what you want.

I really like my Polar FT4 - whatever bran you go with - make sure it has a chest strap to measure your heart rate. These are more accurate than the wrist band (only) models.
