Need some help / recomendations!!

Hey everyone!! So I am not a runner, in fact I hate it! But I want to over come this and become a runner. I set myself a goal, to run the "See Jane Run" Half marathon in Seattle Wa on July 15, 2012. I'm new to running, do you guys have any recomendations for me to work my way up to 13.1 miles by July? I'm starting training now because I can barly run as is.

Any recomendations would me great!!

    Me too! I hate running with passion. It hurts!

    I'm starting the couch to 5k program (C25k), hopefully tonight. I've heard so many great things about it, and I'd like to be able to run a 5k by fall. It's a good way to get started, and it's only a 6 week program if you can push through it. It takes me longer as I'm really that out of shape.

    My wife just started the couch to 5k program and it doesn't seem that difficult. Just get out and start walking is the hardest part!
  • I am walking my first 5K this saturday, but my goal is to be able to run/jog one by April. My job offers a wellness program and today was our first "Couch to 5K" training session and it was not bad at all. If you can get in a group or get an accountability partner I think that will make it easier and more enjoyable.
