Milk in recipes
You know when a recipe calls for "milk"? Well, I just thought of something to be more health conscious. Is it okay to use SKIM milk? I just normally use the milk I drink which is 2% milk. I can't stand skim milk but I guess I can use it in recipes when it calls for "milk" since I can't taste it's nastiness.
Please give me your thoughts and opinions.
People tell me that skim milk tastes good because it tastes just like water. Well, that is the reason why it tastes nasty to me. I want my milk to taste like MILK - more whole!
Thanks in advance for all your help!

You can use skim milk, unsweetened almond milk, unsweetened coconut milk, flax milk, soy milk, etc. in place of milk when a recipe calls for it (depending on why the milk in needed).0

Skim milk will work in the vast majority of recipes that call for "milk." If your recipe calls for cream ... and you use skim ....... you might have a problem. Then you could sub in half&half no problem.
By the way .... 2% milk only reduces the fat by (something like) one-third. See if you can switch to 1%. I agree skim is definitely an acquired taste.0 -
TeaBea,
I tried 1% milk and it tastes just as nasty as skim milk. Lol. I guess 2% is better than whole milk.0
