Steampunk ahoy! (worth a try!lol!)

Did MFP a year ago and lost about 14lbs but got into bad habits again.
So i'm back again and bit more determined!
Back to the title of my topic, i'm into steampunk and wondered if by any chance there were other people here into the scene? I would like to look really good in a corset, not just ok!
Would be great to meet otehr liked minded people!

I looove the steampunk scene, part of the reason I'm looking to lose weight/tone up is so I can wear outrageous corsets and outfits out to the alternative clubs in my city :)

Feel free to add me! :D

I'm not into it myself, but I have a general idea of what it is. They hold the Wild Wild West Con a few miles from my house. This year it's March 4 - 6. I think I'm going to buy a ticket to Old Tucson that weekend and go see what it's all about.

Theres a girl that makes Steampunk jewelry and sells it on Etsy.

Her post was the first time I'd heard of the style and after Googling it, found it amazing

Reminds me of Final Fantasy 9!

Can I wish I was cool enough to be into steampunk? I love the idea, I just haven't found any "meaningful" way to legitimately claim it for myself.

Steampunk stuff is awesome! I wish I had more time to tinker and make things but for right now mostly I just admire other people and their awesome handiwork.

Love steampunk! It's not exactly a big in lower Alabama, but what can you do. I'm totally lusting over some steampunk jewelry and am really into all the new steampunk authors.

Welcome back! Two of my dolls like steampunk.
  • Oh, just a bit. :)

Just bought a house with a workshop, so I'll finally be able to start tinkering with a few ideas I've had. Plus, we have a Steampunk convention coming up soon here in San Diego.

I'm really into steampunk but at just under three hundred pounds the cloths I can find cost way too much. It's one of the reasons I'm looking to loose weight that and while I can sew, sewing a size 16 or 18 is a lot easier than a 24. looking for support from people that understand things like that so add me if you want :)

Still waiting for someone to make an all-in-one universal steampunk remote control for the entertainment system.

Let me know if you see one.

I've heard about it for a while now, but I recently had a friend actually explain it to me because I didn't completely know what it was. I think it's really cool, and I really like the style. :D I think it would be awesome to dress like that.

If you'd like to add me, feel free. :) I don't know much about Steampunk, but I would be interested in learning more!

    Hello!

I am into Steampunk, cosplay, Ren faires ... just a love of costuming. I am currently working on my steampunk and hope to have it ready (and me closer to being ready) for a con at the end of May.

Check out Damseldress.com. They sell corsets and other costumey stuff and the prices are VERY reasonable. you can choose your own fabric AND they make items for the full figured!
    Also try hips and curves.com

I love steam punk too! I do not get to dabble in it much (love Girl Genius) but I do have goggles! If I could get away with wearing a corset (and goggles of course) I would be a happy camper. Oh! A new goal!

Oh yes, the corsets and boots. <dreamy sigh> High school *cough* 20-something years ago *cough* I was wearing knee high boots, long skirts and pulling up the sides so the petty coat would show. We didn't have a name for it then. And corsets were harder to find. Fredrick’s of Hollywood was your best bet. Now... Etsy... LOVE!!!
