Charlie what now?????

So I don't get it: I'm recently new to this whole working out thing becuase I thought if I just ate less then I would lose weight. ( I realize the error of my ways now and the scale proved me wrong). I go to log into the exercises and when I track being on the stationary bike for 20 minutes I burn 279 calories. But when I am doing an aerobic program on my treadmill for 20 minutes I only burn about 150 calories.
Now I would think moving this big body around would burn alot more calories than just sitting and moving my legs. Am I doing something wrong? That gets me frustrated because I thought the treadmill would burn more calories faster. Is this just wishful thinking?
Any and all advise would be greatly appreciated. (also friend requests to keep me motivated)
Thanks for the help!

Of course you burned more calorie on the tread mill.
The calorie on the bike machine is over calculate.
I don't trust those gym machines at all.
I worked my butt off on Stepmaster. and the eliptical machine still burned more calorie.

Get an HRM and you'll get better more consistent results. That's truly the only way to know what you burned.
