Beginnig my journey to a new healthier me!

I am new to this site. So far I really like the site. I just want to introduce myself and maybe meet some other people who struggle with their weight.

My goal is to lose about 85 pounds. I am about to turn 42. My only son is about to turn 21. As a child growing up weight was never a problem for me. If anything it was the opposite. I was as skinny as a bean pole, as my Grandpa use to say. I stayed skinny until I got pregnant with my son. After my son was born, I lost most of my baby weight but my weight was never the same. I slowly started putting on the pounds. In 2004, I finally had enough and lost about 60 pounds. Then my marriage went from not so good, to bad, to worse. During this time, I found comfort in food. So here I am 8 years later, gained every pound of that 60 pounds back, plus about 30 more.

I have been suffering from severe depression the past few months. This is when I started binge eating. After I ate 5 boxes of Girl Scout Cookies in a 24 hour span, I new I was in trouble. So I went back to my doctor and told him I needed help. My depression wasn't any better and now I was binge eating. He prescribed new meds, but the thing that seem to help the most, was the challenge he set before me. He told me I was going to go home and get rid of all the food in my house. I know what you are thinking, "Has he lost his mind?" That's what I thought too. But he wanted me to get rid of all the food and only have fresh fruits and vegetables in the house. He told me to eat fruit for breakfast and a 6" Subway Sandwich for lunch and one for dinner. So I have accepted his challenge, which brings me here, to today, to the beginning of my journey to a new healthier me! :smile:
