Looking for support, to lose weight. I have been over weight since appx 1992/93 when I went on the Depro Provera shot. I gained over 100 pounds, which is scary. I talked to my doctor at the time, and she said it was me "changing". I was no older than 23. Than she said it was because I was eating different. NO, I wasn't. We joke all the time, it was because I lived in Alaska (and the doctors there stink.... in fact, I wasn't even seeing a doctor. I think she was a nurse, not even a nurse probationer).
Joke was on me. In 2000 I started feeling tired, by 2006 I could not function. Blood test showed my iron was low. I, to this day go in for tri-monthly iron infusions. However, last month, my family doctor did tests and found out my thyroid was I believe under-active? It explained a lot of things, the weight gain (and not being about to lose more than 30-50 pounds, and almost always regaining it), dry skin, hair falling out, and other things.
I recently started thyroid medication two weeks ago and I am really hoping it will help. I am also Vitamin D deficient. I believe the low of Vitamin D is 40 (however they measure it), and mine was .08 two weeks ago. So I am also taking Vitamin D twice a week. 50,000 IU caps. Finding these new issues, gives me HOPE, I can get down to a healthier weight.
I don't ever expect to be back down below 140-150, but I'd be thrilled if I did. I am looking for support, hoping I can find people.
Thanks~
