How is it possible that she is exactly the same for 10 years

I kind of know this woman from a local gym. I used to go to the same gym she still goes to, and has been for 10+ years. When I would be at the gym 5x a week, so would she. From where I stood, she always looked like she worked really hard. So today, I stopped in that gym to meet a buddy and I saw her for the first time in about 7 years.... and we recognized each other and said hello. We chatted for about 4 -5 minutes. She told me that she still hits the gym for about 75 minutes a day, 4 to 5x a week....
I absolutely applaud this woman.
But I don't know how she still looks exactly like she did so many years ago... meaning she still has not developed any muscle, or gotten any leaner, from what I can see.
Is she just incapable of changing her body type? Or, do you think there is something going on that I haven't though of.
Again, I APPLAUD this woman's efforts. In no way am I putting her down. I only wish I had her sticktoitiveness.

Diet probably. Or the fact that she hasn't changed her routine in 10 years and her body is just used to it.0

ever seen the movie ..the sixth sense....maybe she is not really there............... i would agree with some of the posts, her diet may have not changed in all those years and her body is just used to it...all the best...stu (stormy)0

That's everyone at my gym including me for the past 5 years...well actually i've gained weight:laugh: . It's totally my diet. If you really look around the gym noone really changes.
She might exercise to stay where she is or for stress management.0 -
Not everyone goes to a gym for weight loss, and besides her diet probably hasn't changed.0

She might be happy with how she looks, and enjoys her food therefore only goes to maintain her figure.
Good on her for sticking it out at the gym for all those years! Wish i could!

If she has been doing cardio only, all these years, often she will not appear to change. Though often she will have lost muscle in that time, but from outward "clothed" appearances, she may not look much different.
Doping cardio only, you will not build any muscle after a while, and just sort of look the same year after year. Actually you do change though, because with muscle especially - you are always losing OR gaining, it really never stays static. A bodyfat check shows this, or checking body firmness in specific areas, but thats hard to see clothed.
If she does doe any strength or resistance training, if she has not changed her routine, to stress her muscles in new ways, adding more weights, changing movement types - again she will reach a place where she stops gaining, or improving. So another "static" place. No growth. Eventually, muscle lose may also occur here as well, but at a lower rate - depending on the resistance training one does and type.
This is one reason cardio only, or many reps with low weights only - really only produces limited benefit for short term (at least in body composition and visible changes) - because you eventually reach a point where, you body is not longer challenged. So changed - "improvements" stop.
Thats why the girl at the treadmill next to you, who goes everyday for years and years - still looks the same. Even though she diets, and eats right
Or the person in the cardio, aerobics, whatever class, goes for years and years and years - but never quite gets to their "goal" - even though they are so dedicated.
It is true diet is also a big factor, and this women, may also be at her goal place, and be perfectly happy, so she may be only in a maintenance place.0 -
Calorie compensation if she's not paying attention to her diet. If she's not building muscle, then she could be eating too little protein or doing mostly cardio.0
