Hi Guys,

I've not come on for a big moan just need a bit of help. I started back in August and things were going well with diet and exercise.
But since I had a bike accident on the way to work and problems with my neck and back, I just seem to have stopped losing weight and lost motivation a bit

I know the xmas period affects us all and I did put on 1 /2 pounds, however my weight loss is now non-existent.

The weather has not helped as i dont ride to work at present and haven't since my accident.
My gym is 5 miles away and my car has been in the garage on and off for 5 weeks so I have not been able to get there either. (it all sound like excuses as I'm writing this)

Any tips on things I can do at home???, or just a general kick up the backside would be more than welcome!!!

I will open my diary to people and please feel free to add me.

Thanks for reading xx

Hi we have all been through patches like that and it's really easy to think of any excuse. So you need to pull your socks up and positive mental attitude (sorry was going for the kick up the butt!). Walking is the best thing even if it's just round the block a few times when you get home from work - it's better than nothing. I am just heading out for a quick walk in my lunch hour other wise I just sit on my backside and that's no good. It is soooo hard to motivate yourself at this time of the year I know so you are not on your own :-) My advise is get walking :-) and good luck!

I also agree just go for a walk, and it is free. Or walk around at work, once you get moving you will get back on track! You can do it!

Depending on the injury, I'd focus on healing more than anything. If you aren't exercising, you need to lower your caloric intake to match the more sedentary lifestyle (which sucks) but if you need the rest, take it.

That being said: swimming, cycling, elliptical are all solid low impact exercises. For around the house I would just say go for a walk or jog if you can handle that (I personally can't jog when I have back pain, but I don't know the extent of your injury). Maybe yoga? I'd stay off lifting or calisthenics until you're 100%, again depending on the injury.

    Good luck!
