Are there any kidney patients out there?!?!?

My husband keeps saying he needs to eat better and get into better shape. I want to bring him to MFP, but he has diabetes, congestive heart failure, and end stage kidney disease (on dialysis 3x per week). His kidney diet should always trump his diabetic diet, but it is very restrictive. I am wondering if there are any other kidney patients out there and how you make weight loss work for you as far as diet.

I am a kidney patient. I am starting my water fast tomorrow to combat it, I'll let you know how it goes.
