Anyone else trying to lose 20-25 lbs? I lost 5 lbs my first two weeks (before I started using MFP) and now - basically NOTHING! I am so frustrated! I am eating my net 1200 calories, drinking lots of water, etc. The day that I did go WAY over was the only day I really lost! Then when I went back to my net 1200, it showed a gain again!

When you ate over your 1200 goal and lost weight that should be a little hint. 1200 is far too low for the majority of people here... MFP just puts the goal at that because it won't go lower. Eat more.0 -

My goal is actually 23 pounds (just edited it today) I have lost 10 in the last 5 weeks. Did you choose the option that you sit all day as your daily activity and you actually are a little more active and should have chosen the second option? Are you positive that you are actually burning all the calories you think you are when exercising? By that I mean you burn 1,000 exercise calories (or so you think) and eat them back when in reality you only burned 700-800. It could very well be one of these things that you need to figure out what it is that is holding you back.
Also, what exactly are you eating during the day? If you are working out you should make sure you are getting your protein and try to limit the fats and sodium. Good Luck!!0 -
I just started editing my exercise calories burned as I realized MFP was way over on them. I am walking 25 minutes on the treadmill at work, then riding my recumbant (sp?) bike in the evenings for 30 minutes. I have a desk job and did set that accordingly. I eat 100% whole wheat bread, peanut butter, chicken, and fruits. Don't like many veggies.
So I should be eating over my exercise calories and go into the "red"? I am so confused!0 -

If you track your wokouts MFP will give you cal. to eat back. You should try not to go into the red. I would eat more veggies if possible I know you mentioned you don't really like these. More veggies and fruit, less cookies etc. Cookies Candy are carbs that do not do much for your body..
Even if you could try this for 2 weeks and see if it makes a difference?
Also if you do track your work outs, I find that MFP gives you wayyy more cal burned then you really burned in your work out. SO adjust if needed. Else you will/might eat to much food back, since MFP gave you so much extra to eat back.0 -
My goal is 20 pounds...I upped my calories to 1450 and eat a couple hundred extra calories if I'm hungry on workout days (which is 6 days a week). I already feel a difference. Sometimes you just need to eat a little more as backward as that seems! See if that helps you! Good luck--I know how you feel--it's tough to lose when you have 20 or less pounds to shed0

No do not eat over your exercise calories I would say you MAY want to eat 100 under them just to leave a buffer for a small margin of error if you are overestimating your calories burned0 -

Wow, 10 lbs in 5 weeks!! Good for you! I wish I could do that! I lost 5 the first 2 then maybe 1 the last 2 weeks. I am editing my workout calories now, so maybe that will help. I will try to eat 100 cal under for the next week and see if that helps. Thanks for the encouragement! It is so easy to get frustrated!0 -

I know! I really, really, don't like veggies! I can't even force myself to eat them! I do try to eat healthy otherwise. I had some cookies, but they were "health" oatmeal ones made with splenda, so I don't think that is too bad! And I ate a fun size pack of M&M's today, which was the extent of my Valentine's Day treat. I try to just eat a small bite or piece of something I like if everyone else is eating it. Otherwise I may "fall of the wagon" and pig out if I deprive myself.0
