Crystal Light is not water

I'm happy to be off all the diet Coke I used to drink. And I guess I'm just fooling myself by thinking I can drink Crystal Light in place of water. I'm beginning to understand that water is water and there just is no substitute. I'm trying to eat clean, but it's time to drink clean too. Could this be why I'm slow to lose. Can sweetners really mess up our weightloss?

I would only drink Crystal Light all day every day and worked out like crazy and no weight was coming off because I convinced myself I 'hated' water. I have drunk only water for 5 weeks now and lost 10 pounds. Try really hard to drink the water by itself I truly think the sweeteners are not good for you!!

Artificial sweeteners can mess up weight loss. Although my doctor says watered down crystal light is just as good as water. (As in double the water.) So I guess it's a personal choice. I like it, but I don't find it as thirst quenching as plain old water.

I'm not sure about the whole artificial sweetener thing, and don't want to start any arguments. But for me, drinking something "sweet"..... something "flavored" all day, everyday.... is a bad habit to get into. I do drink 1 diet soda everyday, but not several. I can't drink much Crystal Light because of the citric acid.

Getting used to, or getting to "like" plain water is a good thing. You might have to "work" to get there, and I'm sure it's healthier in the long run. I use a filtered water bottle at work, that helps. Putting lemon or orange slices in your water may help too.
