Hello Guys,

I know there is a MFP food database but with paneer (cottage cheeze) the calories differ so hugely among different entries that I thought it might be wise to ask people.

Well, 2 days ago, I prepared Paneer at home. If you dont know what paneer is: Its simple. boil the milk, add tablespoon of lime juice and filter the stuff from why (or watery thing). Its Paneer/cottage cheese.

I used 3 litres of semi-skimmed milk and it gave me 420 grams of Paneer.
3 litres of milk = 1470 calories (49 cal/100ml of milk).
The final product was 420 grams. Should I say that all the 1470 calories are present there in 420g of Paneer or do you think, some calories (or fats) might have drained away in that watery liquid.

One entry on MFP (Savera, traditional paneer) lists 170 calories/100 grams. Am so confused because the error margin is no 10% here but whooping 100% :frown:
