Like so many others I have found that I have become seditary and not paying attention to myself have gained way to much weight and now it is becoming harder to take off . I have three children and two grandchildren . I guess it started when I stopped smoking and started eating lol. old story there. I would love to have friends that are supportive and understand how hard this really is this time around.:flowerforyou:

Hi, feel free to add me, you're one step ahead already having quit smoking. That's what I should really do :(

You are one step ahead of me as well. I am trying to lose 40-55 pounds and quit smoking. Currently on the step two patch but can't give up my nightly smoke before bed :(

Feel free to add me if you'd like. I am a few years older but same thing happened to me. Every few years need to get new pants, than had to do XL shirts, then suddenly realized I am 40 to 50 pounds overweight and borderline obese. I is certainly harder to lose the weight then it was when I was younger.
  • WOW thanks everyone. I sure will add everyone that ask. I am a bartender by trade and sitting home now has really cut my enthusasim . Smoking was easy for me . food is much harder. lol

Feel free to add me as well.
  • I can so relate to you and I think you will be able to relate to me. I too am a mother of 3 and a grandmother of 2. Last year a few months before my 51st birthday I decided once and for all I was sick of feeling so tired, down, sick, in pain and depressed. I never thought I would accomplish what I have. I hope you become my friend and read my story. I have been told I am an inspiration to many. I haVe made the commitment and promise to myself that I would never go back there again. This is a lifestyle change, which is what this website has made me realize and I am in control of my destiny and you can be too. Welcome friend!
  • I feel I've been dieting my whole life (since 16). At 48 I finally decided it was time to stop dieting and begin eating healthy and working out. So, here I am with my metabolism the slowest it's ever been and finally realizing that this has to be a way of life for me...not a diet. I stopped using Weight Watchers (talk about a roller coaster ride) and began MFP about 3 weeks ago counting calories. I already had a fit bit and was very excited to see it would "talk" to MFP. I now work with a personal trainer 4 days a week and work out on my own 1-2 other days a week. It is taking soooo long to lose but I think that with this new way of life, when it comes off, it will stay off.
