I was having the same problem...not exactly sure of the cause. (Maybe change in diet). A co-bootcamper of mine just gave me some Chia Seeds and High Fiber Organic Hemp Protein Powder ( from Whole Foods). I couldn't believe how quickly it worked and I have been pooping pretty regular ever since. I make a shake for breakfast every other day with 3 tblsp of Hemp Protein Powder, 1 tsp of chia seeds, 1 cup frozen berries, 1 banana, 2 tblsp of Chobani Vanilla yogurt, and water. Sooooo Yummy! I also try to add just the chiaa seeds to my Oatmeal, yogurt or salads. They can really be added to so many things and you can even bake with them! Going to try that this weekend. Ahyway I hope I've helped. Bombs away! LOL0

How is your sodium intake? That makes my scale tip
Maybe more fiber & water...
If you aren't opposed to it, coffee/ caffeine helps move things along. Sometimes I take Senna pills to keep things moving too.0 -
Try Ones Prunes (individually wrapped prunes) or any prunes for that matter. 2-3 before bedtime every nite and you will be regular in a couple of days. Then every other day is fine....0

Maybe it would help your digestive tract if you would fast and only drink water until you are able to poop again. Its backed up and by continuing to eat i imagine its making it harder for it to catch up. Just a thought, thats what i would do.0

i agree...my farts stink something evil..ive lost 4lb and 17 friends ahahahahahahahahah:laugh:
LOL. I hear this is from lots of protein.0 -
I agree about the Miralax ( or Restoralax as it's called in Canada.... also known as peg powder, in generic )
I eat a TON of fiber... but all the extra protein has really, seriously, significantly slowed me down. I USED to be ever 3 days. Then it was 1x a week.
I started taking Restoralax two weeks ago - a tablespoon in my afternoon coffee. It took about a week to work and I haven't taken it since I ran out on Friday.
I'm still going.
Pretty sure I've lost three inches around my middle though!0 -
If I eat too much fiber I get bloated and sore. Prune juice works better for me (and it's delicious!). Also agree about yoghurt and pro-biotics - they are a life-saver for all manner of tummy problems.
ETA - Oh, and licorice! Or licorice tea.0 -
Miralax is safe to use every day it's been perscribed to my daughter who is 4 you can also get it at the store.0

More fiber usually makes things WORSE for me. One thing that really makes a very noticeable positive difference, however, is regularly (3-4x/week) eating yogurt. I prefer greek yogurt.
And if you're uncomfortable and looking to "clear it out", try a salt water flush. It's pretty gross, but totally safe & natural and believe me, it works. (Make sure you can stay at home for at least an hour!)0 -

Yeah.... chia totally works too!0 -
I'm not a coffee drinker, but one cup and it cleans me right out!0

Try eating raw for a week. If you can't do raw do vegetarian. Stay away from the meat and dairy. That should help get things moving then you can go back to eating healthy/normal0

I like probiotics (GoodBelly is a dairy free option). I have to keep my fiber low because of IBD but I can tolerate that.0

Take a stool softener not worth it0

I had this too. I was drinking more water- TONS of fiber and still ... so I went to the laxatives but I don't want to live on laxatives. So I started to look at what's IN laxatives. ah- magnesium. I purchased a magnesium supplement and took it in the morning and before bed with a full glass of water and VOILA! it's magic!
now I only take it once a day, every morning with my fish oil and the regularity is back. IF I get sluggish, I'll take 2 a day. I never need more than 2 and never have to use laxatives or anything stronger.
I don't know if it will help you, but it works wonders for me
hope this helps - good luck- I know how uncomfortable you feel0 -
Gotta love the interwebs!

<snip>
From 115 healthy adult males, 8,267 serial stool specimens were collected. The statistical variables of weight and consistency of stools, hours of interval between stools, daily frequency, and time of day of defecation are discussed.
Some of the more pertinent findings are as follows:
1. The average weight of stools of 115 individuals is 123.6 Gm., with a standard deviation of 40.2 and a standard error of 3.74.
<snip>
That's about 0.27 pounds, with a standard deviation of 0.09 pounds.

So do you guys think that could be the reason for my extra 6lbs in two days? I've found that I'm weighing usually about 4-6lbs heavier than normal no matter what I do right now, and am wondering if this is the reason why.0
