I think there might be something missing in the recipe.
I didn't make them, but just from looking at the recipe, the quantity it's supposed to make, and my experience with baking is telling me something isn't right.
There's only 1/2 cup of dry ingredient. 14 cupcakes from 1/2 cup of flour? That's like 1/2 tbsp of dry per cupcake

I haven't made them, but I think it could be fine. The egg whites are what's giving the cupcakes their volume - the flour is more a stabilizer than the main bulking ingredient. They're probably more like a sponge than a normal cake.0 -
