I'll be attending a friend's 50th birthday in New Jersey in 2 weeks- but I won't have access to a computer and I don't have a smart phone. I won't be logging in to track my food and I won't have control over my food choices- just control over my portion sizes. How can I avoid overeating during this weekend? I know I'll be tempted to say - aww, screw it - it's only one weekend. I'm a little anxious about it and would like some support please.

As you said, you have control over your portion sizes...YOU HAVE CONTROL!
Enjoy your week-end, enjoy the food served and enjoy some exercise.

Pack some snackable stuff - fruit, bars, pre-measured servings of nuts - and water (so you don't wind up drinking your calories!) Bring a small notepad to write down everything you eat, with the intention of entering it when you are able to get online next. You can probably estimate serving sizes. Knowing you will still be accountable for it even after the fact should help!

But most importantly, have a great time!
  • Thanks pinup love and kellie. I will do the notebook (great idea) and pack snacks. And yes, it's going to be one helluva party!
