I want to quit eating Cliff Bars cuz I love them SO much I overdo them. they are high in cals and are a big caloric sacrifice.
This is dumb, but how can I make sure I don't eat them? other ppl here like them so I can't toss em. I just wanted to know if anyone has had succes 'just saying NO'

Don't buy them. If they are not in the house, you are much less likely to eat them.

umm...try cutting back at first and then just don't eat them? I have all sorts of stuff in my house that I don't eat but the kids and hubby do. Eventually, I just quit being hungry for them.

Ask the others if they'd be willing to stop eating them too.. Or start off by cutting back like the toher lady mentioned. But you have to tell yourself no.. I had to do the same thing with coca cola years ago. Now, I hardly drink soft drinks at all. We just don't buy them.

Honestly.... just don't eat them. You don't have to eat anything that is in your house. You will have to learn to say no.

Yes, it is easier said then done, but it is possible.

Remind yourself how many minutes of exercise it will take just to work those calories off. If I know I have to exercise for 30 or 40 minutes just to balance out those calories, it will often deter me from eating it - not always, but most of the time. I agree with the others, if you start telling yourself no, eventually it does get easier.

    Thanks you guys!
Hahah, I already knew I'd just have to deal, but talking about it kinda helped.

Have others hide them so you don't know where they are? Lock them up and give someone else the key? My husband hides cookies.. if I don't know where they are.. I'm not tempted

I buy the mini ones. They are 100 calories. I eat them as a snack. They aren't that tempting to me, and anything in individual wrappers is going to make me think twice about having more cause I have to open so many packages. But a can of nuts...now that's a problem

That's what I was going to suggest...buy the kids ones, or eat half and save the other half. Cliff Bars are great in a pinch if you can't get a meal in, but not a good every day food.
  • Yes, its best not to have them around....but sometimes you do. I understand. Have you tried to look for an alternative? Something that you would like but itsn't as high in cals or whatever?
Sometimes its hard to avoid. Actually. I put stuff in my freezer. Like almonds. They are great to have but sometimes I go a little "nuts" with them (cheesy sorry) so if I have to defrost them I'm more likely to not just reach for them whenever. It helps with portion control!
