Hi all

Just needed to share I went shopping for easter eggs yesterday and ended up buying a new mountain bike I went to the store to check if something that Had broke on my sons bike needed replacing as it was still under warranty and I started looking at the bikes and I got an idea in my head and the rest is history needless to say say hubby was a bit pissed that I had just spent £220 on a bike but he did agree it was a good bike and it would be used so when we went to collect it we were looking at a way to involve our daughters 4 and 2 yr old so we spent another £180 on a trailer that fastens to the back wheel we then went out yesterday with the whole family my son learning vital road safety hubby and daughters in their trailer chatting away to each other. Got up this morning and the sun was out so guess what we packed up some bottles of water and some bread and off we cycled to feed the ducks then oh lets go down the railroad track (they arent used any more and have been filled in but are off road) so off we go 2 miles in I got a flat then the tyre kept coming off so couldnt push it and I have the kids attached to my bike as the trailor wont fasten to my hubby bike we had 3 mile to cycle to get to the end of the track then 2 mile uphill home to get repair stuff so off me and my son went (I used hubbys bike and he sat with the girls the track isnt near a road either) luckily just as we were nearly home hubby phoned some more organised cyclists had stopped and got him going so I got home got more water threw the 2 bikes in the car and drove back to the entrance of the tracks and cycled to meet my hubby youngest daughter was asleep. We then all cycled home really tired it is hard work on any incline with the trailer dont know how many cals I burned but was cycling for over 3 hours some of that on rugged ground and fast and lots of that was uphills with trailer suppose need to get a heart rate onitorbut it was funfunfun and I hope it is nice tomorrow coz we can get out again (hopefully no flat tyres this time the wheels are filled with slime now so that will help)

Just needed to share I struggle to use the exercise bike for 30 its boring yet 3 hours outside with all my family burning cals getting fit and family bonding and I loved it.

Good for you! I hope you can keep it up. It's so much easier to get exercise when you are having fun, instead of slogging away on a stationary bike just to get your calories burned for the day. The weather's getting warm here too, so I'm looking forward to playing soccer with my son, and teaching him to play tennis and golf. What fun we'll have!

Last year I bought a hybrid Trek bike for riding with my wife. Last week I bought a fast Cannondale road bike. Biking is so addictive! Yes, it is a good thing to get your children involved in activities that will teach them to be healthy. What a fun family outing, enjoying nature and getting some fresh air!

yeah it is sooo much fun another nice day so got up early and did shred then fed the kids did normal workout for 30 mins showered did my hair (not really any point cant tell now) had lunch then packed up the girls trailer they have toys and juice in it with them they love it and we set off to go the other way down the tracks today then a different route home on a lovely country road just 1 hill that there was no way I will ever be able to cycle up too much weight with the trailer it would kill me. Bonus for today no flat tyres kids have had a ball seen lambs and calves and chicks etc. Pretty tired now gonna log cals as I am pretty sure I have earned loads today we were on bikes for 2 hours again lots of incline and grass which is harder than you think pulling a trailer with 2 kids in it.
