Starting to lose weight - finally!

Hey MFP friends,
*I posted this in the wrong message board this morning*
Two weeks ago I posted how discouraged I was and received a ton of positive feedback - thanks everyone! So I attended some zumba classes (just for fun, not to lose weight) and then I went out of town and ate like a COW! However, I noticed my body was rejecting some of the fast food I ate, so while I was out of town I started eating salads and chicken salad instead of the burger and pizzas I usually got.
I weighed myself yesterday and I am down about 3 more pounds, which brings my weight loss to 9 pounds since I've been on MFP and 11 pounds since I started my first attempt (of many) to lose weight. I'm kind of excited because I was 200lbs in September and now i'm 189lbs, so I am entering a new weight bracket. I had a revelation this weekend that I deserve to be dedicated to myself, instead of my inconsistancy that I have shown, so I will be going to zumba again tonight (I ended up doing taebo bootcamp)!
I just wanted to encourage everyone that is beginning like me to stick to it, stay dedicated to MFP as well. Even if you don't log in everyday, be aware of what you're eating and the calories. Treat yourself on some days and work it off later.
Work hard, pray harder! This journey is definitely a hard one, but you can do it!!
That's my testimony for today, God bless!

Encouraging post. I needed this! My journey has been slow and like you, I went out of town, but unlike you, gained three pounds. Eventhough, I over ate I got back into my routine when I returned. I expect to see better results at my next weigh in. Keep up the good work!!!

You can totally do it! I love to eat so I am constantly eating, but instead of doritos, I eat pineapples. Instead of taking a nap, I go walk around campus.
It's definitely about choices, you deserve to do something for yourself. You deserve to reach your goal. You owe it to yourself to make something happen for YOU that no one else can. I'm sure you look wonderful now, but just think of how great you'll look minues a few pounds!
I also get on youtube and look at weightloss testimonials as well because there are TONS of people who are doing the exact same thing.
Stay encouraged - YOU CAN DO IT!0
