I hurt my back! Eek! What now?

I'm not sure what I did. The only thing I did different today was I did the Fit Test for Insanity, and I did those around the world things with my abs...standing up, lean forward, side, back, side, front. You know? Well, anyway, so now my back hurts. I'm guessing I just pulled a muscle. Depending on how I feel tomorrow, if I can still move through the pain, is it safe to workout?

I had a very sever back injury a couple years ago that flares up once it a while. I have to just rest it for a few days until it fills better. Any exercise I do has to NOT effect my back until it feels better or it will make recovery 10 times longer.

Do you think you can manage your calorie goals without exercising? That is what I'd recommend.
ICE it--- it feels terrible now, but helps in the long run (decreases inflammation). The only exercise I would allow is nice gentle walking, unless it really hurts. And by walking, I mean no more than 30 minutes, NOT some 4-hour marathon! Give your body a chance to recover. And yes, you CAN lose weight just by watching calories and not exercising.
    Good luck!

I just saw these responses. I must have overworked the muscles. It was still hurting this morning, hard to bend over and everything, so I took a nice hot bath. It feels a bunch better already. It's still sore, but it's the kind of sore like if I were lifting weights and used a bunch of muscles I never use. LOL It's crazy cause I've been working out way more than usual over the past month, and I take the wkend off, and then this! grrr
