hey guys just wondering how accurate are heart rate monitors? I bought a cheap one the other day and i think i set it right... but i wasnt sure when it came to the low heart rates and the high heart rate things. The difference in the calories that says im burning to what my exercise bike says and what mfp says are wayy different. mfp and my bike are pretty close.. but the heart rate monitor is a LOT lower... im not sure what to go by?

Generally the HRM but it depends on how cheap we are talking here.
Did it take all info(age, weight, height, gender and Vo2max) and does it have a chest strap? If it's missing either one of those components then it prob. won't be that accurate and you're better off with MFP.0 -
i just got a hrm from suunto it was $162 so i am hoping it is very accurate or i am going to be very disappointed.
how cheap are we talking about? if it's less than 100 i would doubt0 -
