I have taken the week off to be with my lovely daughter and to decorate the house. Today Daughter went to holiday club at school, so I can decorate in peace. However; I am hating every minute of it!

Tried to encourage myself by looking at how many calories I burn with 1 hour of painting/ sanding or decoarting- but none of them are classed as exercise in MFP. still- I know I am exercising, as my arms hurt like hell....

Any suggestions as to what calories burned I can put for approx. 6 hours of slavery?

I am now going back to the room that I am decorating, and will take a 'songs of the musicals' cd with me.

Whats better then painting the walls whilst singing and dancing along to 'I could have danced all night....' from My Fair Lady

Go On Imke- you can do it!

I don't really have much help but I painted my bathroom (and still not finished) and i wished so bad I had a HRM b/c I was busting my *kitten* in that damn bathroom getting stuff done Lol. I don't usually track for cleaning or any of that, but painting is a whole different realm lol.

It's certainly not something you would normally do, day to day, I'd call it exercise! Because, wow, is it a workout! Especially for the arms.

Thanks for the back up girls,

eventually I put 2 hours of 'Cleaning light moderate effort' which was actually sanding and painting for 5 hours...

I am not sure if it equates, but felt this way atleast I acknowledged some of the hard work I put in today.
  • I came across this website earlier to figure out some of the ones that aren't on here, i.e, Zumba's not listed on MFP database and its something a lot of people do as a way of exercising.

Like you, I painted my sons room at the start of the year, took me 3 days in all, working 8 hours a day and when I went back to work my trousers felt loose, however, I wasn't on MFP then and wished I was as it all went straight back on!!

    Anyway, here's the link...

You have to put in your current weight in the top and there's tons of chores, etc on there. You can then enter them manually into the database. I add all types like food shopping and ironing! It all helps, all those chores that bore, burn more!! haha
