Just curious, has anyone else had these things? I've fallen in love with them recently since there is a Lebanese farmers market a little down the road. Only 114 calories according to most recipies I can find too! AND they're big! One makes a whole meal for me on average.

Mmmm... Those do look good! I'm not sure about the 114 calories. If that is the case, then there must be more than one serving in the picture. Thanks for the food find!0

Yeah, I'm trying to find out more. Think they'd tell me if I asked them for the recipe? Sadly its kind of a family deli so I can't really so much get nutritional info.0

You could tell them about sites that would let them calculate calories. like sparkrecipes.com or recipezaar. That way, if they didn't want to share the rcipe, maybe they would be willing to plug it in and get the info for you! Let us know if they do, because I love those, too, but try to stay away!0

I love these spinach pies!! I used to eat them all the time when I was overseas--now there's a turkish place that makes them here at home. Yummy!! I bet they are more than 114 cal though :noway:0

Found a recipe for fatayer sabanegh (the triangle pies) that seems a bit more realistic. 233 calories!

sadly --223 seems more in line for ONE!! One hundred calories for each side of pastry! :frown:

Yeah, but when I buy them, I eat one with a side salad and it's plenty filling, so I am willing to still have those once in a while! Thanks for finding that info!0

Same here, I usually have them as a main course with either a salad, or with a soy dog0 -
FWIW, I *just* got a Lebanese cookbook I had ordered (Kibee 'n' Spice and Everything Nice) and it has a recipe for Spinach Pie Triangles (Fatayer Sabanigh). It lists the nutritional info as 137 calories each. These are small-ish, though, since they say to cut dough into 3-4 inch rounds before filling and folding...0
