I've read a few posts about fitbits and hrms. And none of them are very helpful, at least the ones I read.

I'd like to have a something whether it be the fitbit or a hrm monitor that is going to last for a long time. I bought a bowflex hrm and honestly it's not that great. You have to actually spit on the back of it and run it across the sensor before it starts to work, I'm not sure if you have to do that with others or not? I want something that is reliable. If I work out for an hour, and my hrm says 25 calories something is wrong.

I went to the fitbit website and it sounds wonderful. So is it really? The people that really have one and use it daily, does it work?

I can no way afford a hrm and a fitbit, so I have to decide. Would you help me?

I also have Polar FT40 and love it. I don't know anything about fitbit. I got the polar as the ratings were good and it uses a chest band, which are suppose to get the best readings based on information I read online. I also have the link device, but haven't used it much yet.

I have a Polar FT4 and it came with a chest strap that you wet before putting on and I love it. Its very easy to set up and use and I love getting an accurate calorie reading. The machines are wrong at the gym. I've tested it against a stairmaster and the treadmill and they were both wrong. I paid about $79.99 at newegg.com but i'm sure if you shop around you can find it for a cheaper cost. It's also very easy to change the battery and you do not have to buy a subscription (like body bugg)

Just ordered my Fitbit today actually ... I did a fair bit of "googling" about this little device and I can't wait to get my hands on it and start using it !
