So, I used to get a ton of stuff delivered to my home around a year ago (mostly video games and music gear), and the delivery driver is always the same lady. She saw me at my fattest and unhealthiest. Shortly after I had started working out back in March, she voiced a concern that I should get out and walk and get fresh air. I didn't take it wrong, she's friendly and it's a small town, and I could tell she was trying to be encouraging. I mentioned that I was doing workouts at the time.

Fast-forward to today. The Purolator lady stopped by to drop off my pre-ordered PlayStation Vita (hey, I'm still a gamer!), I opened the door, and the first thing she says is, "wow, you're looking good! You look a lot healthier now! You're really doing your exercises!"

She once again told me to get out in the fresh air, because that's what worked for her you see, and I mentioned that I fish a lot now, and since I can actually stand for longer than 5 minutes at a time, I am actually ABLE to enjoy going outside.

She then said again that I looked good, and she encouraged me to keep it up. "I was worried about you for a while, there. You looked sick, in your face, before." And then she said, as she was leaving, "I'm proud of you."

My own mother hasn't even told me she was proud of me. My own mother hasn't even MENTIONED my weight loss, and I see her about as regularly as the Purolator lady, so it's not like it's the frog in a boiling pot of water type of thing.

Anyhow, it literally made my day. I was proud of myself, and to me, that is proof of my success so far. I was happier about this than receiving a brand new video game system - the box is still sitting on my floor, unopened. My first instinct was to jump on here and post this for a bunch of strangers to read and hopefully glean some encouragement, as I have from others' stories.

Thanks! And I will - this is a lifestyle now, and I'm sticking with it. I do wish I knew what my starting weight was, though. That (and lack of other day-one measurements) are my regrets, but not enough to go back to how I was and start all over again.
