how to stay motivated when your friends have a lot less weig

I've always told myself that it's really important to celebrate the small victories and reward yourself for each pound you lose, because we can all agree that it's frustrating to see that "100 pounds to lose" light at the end of this very very long tunnel...and I think we could also all agree that it helps to be losing weight with friends rather than trying this fight on your own...but what do you do when your friends have 20-30 pounds to lose, and you have a lot to lose? It can seem like your goal is so out of reach when all the people you are dieting with can practically taste their goals.
